As a mitigation specialist, I make sure the judge knows all there is to know about you. Rather than rely only on police reports or the Department of Corrections to tell your story, I take the time to get to know your case, but mainly get to know YOU.

Judges have a wide range of discretion in all sentencing decisions, but can only consider the information they are given. By hiring me, you insure that all of the important information is available for the court to consider (not just your criminal history).  In addition to providing an opportunity for you and your loved ones to have a voice, my background and specialized training may help you access resources to address any needs that might be standing in the way of your overall success.

I always start my client interviews with a warning that, in order to properly do my job, I will be asking them personal, sometimes painful questions, and need them to be honest with me (and themselves). If you are able to do that and are willing to do the hard work necessary to truly turn your life around-  please call (651) 231-5356 for a free consultation or email me at amy@amybbutler.com.

Here’s what some of my former clients had to say:

“I had sentencing this morning and judge reduced offense from a felony to a gross misdemeanor. I just wanted to thank you for the great work you’ve done, without you it wouldn’t be possible. Thank you!”
– former client who had charges reduced

“Amy was a big help in my case. She listened to me and was a big help to put together a profile on who I really am, not just a name on paper who had done something wrong. I recommend her services.”
– former client who received probation when MN Sentencing Guidelines recommended prison

“I read the report. It’s awesome. Hopefully that’s the light history will paint my portrait in. Thank you, Amy.”
– former client who received probation when MN Sentencing Guidelines recommended prison

“You are given one chance to show the judge your good intentions and who you really are as a person. My son had a pre-sentence investigation report done by Amy. This allowed the Judge to hear everything about my son, including his struggles, his efforts, and how he ended up in his legal situation.
The prosecutor was still pushing for 48 months in prison at our final court hearing and my son ended up with a sentence of probation! Without “all” of the information, a judge can’t make the right decision. This report was crucial in getting the positive information incorporated into this case, and ultimately, the probation sentence. We believe this report kept him out of prison!”
